PMMA has a density of 1.19 and is heavier than polystyrene. This makes PMMA microspheres a little easier to centrifuge in purification process. Nylon-6 has a melting temperature of 215-250 C. They are resistant to both heat and solvent. Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is a polar polymer and offers good solvent resistance.
