Phosphorex Names John Rigg Chairman of the Board

As part of our continued growth, John Rigg has recently assumed the role of Chairman of the Board for Phosphorex.

John first joined the Phosphorex Board of Directors in 2024 and has since become increasingly involved with the company’s strategic direction as demand for specialized drug delivery expertise continues to accelerate across the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

He brings decades of leadership experience spanning pharmaceutical manufacturing, operations, and bioprocessing. Most recently, he served as CEO of NanoImaging Services, a leading cryo-electron microscopy characterization organization and member of the LNP Alliance, a collaborative ecosystem Phosphorex helped establish to support advancement of LNP-based therapeutics.

John’s expanded role comes at an important moment for Phosphorex and the broader drug delivery industry. As nucleic acid therapeutics, targeted therapies, and long-acting formulations continue advancing toward the clinic, the role of formulation science, process development, analytical strategy, and scalable manufacturing has become increasingly critical to therapeutic success.

Over the past two decades, Phosphorex has continued to evolve alongside the rapidly advancing field of drug delivery, expanding from our foundational expertise in particulate systems into a broader platform supporting lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), polymeric nanoparticles, polymeric microspheres, and advanced formulation development. Today, we support partners through integrated expertise spanning formulation optimization, process design, analytical development, and CMC strategy across a range of advanced drug delivery platforms.
